What Could an iAwards Win Do for Your Business?

Acknowledgement at the iAwards is an essential building block in large-scale success, says one of last year’s iAwards recipients.

Exinda Networks won an iNVESTMENT iAward for an outstanding partnership between a local industry company and a multinational company in May 2004. Exinda Networks partnered with MCI, one of the world’s largest Internet service providers, to provide end-to-end Quality of Service (QoS) for IP traffic across private and public Internet links.

AIIA Speaks Up on VoIP

As reported in The Bulletin in November 2004, the Australian Communications Authority (ACA) is currently reviewing telecommunications regulations to cover fast-emerging Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services.

AIIA has recently submitted a report to the ACA, calling for VoIP to remain classified as a ‘data service’. “AIIA recognises that the challenges of providing a widely deployed and adopted, fully substitutable voice service are significant and costly, and substantial investments by industry will be required,” says AIIA’s Chief Executive Officer, Rob Durie.

What are the Drivers and Trends Influencing ICT Buyers in 2005?

Leading analyst Bob Hayward from Gartner will address AIIA's first Business Briefing in NSW and Victoria for 2005 and present the Gartner view on what the Australian ICT industry should expect in 2005.

Bob will focus on the ASX 100–ASX 200 companies as ICT buyers, and will examine the business drivers and constraints that can impact on the deal flow with these buyers.

Who’s on Your AIIA NSW Committee?

AIIA’s interests and activities in NSW are undertaken by the NSW Committee, an elected group of representatives from AIIA member companies who work on a voluntary basis to assist the Association and the ICT industry as a whole.

State News: WA Parties to Respond to ICT Industry Issues

In the lead up to the Western Australian election, AIIA has written to the Labor and Liberal Parties along with the Greens (WA), giving them the opportunity to outline their policies and initiatives for the ICT industry in WA.

The parties have until close of business Wednesday 16 February to reply, after which time responses and an analysis will be posted to the AIIA website.
