Gershon Review: online forum at Open Forum
Open Forum is conducting a survey to form the basis of a group submission to the Gerson Review, and welcome the thoughts of AIIA members.
As you know, the Australian Government has engaged UK efficiency expert Sir Peter Gershon to lead an independent review of the Australian Government's use and management of information and communication technology (ICT).
As part of the review process Sir Peter Gershon is calling for input from individuals and organisations so as to identify best practice when it comes to ICT procurement in the Australian context.

Join the Australian ICT industry at the iAwards

On Wednesday, May 28 the business leaders and leading lights of Australia's ICT industry will all be gathered in one place: the 2008 iAwards at the Palladium in Melbourne's Crown Casino.
The best in ICT innovation from each state and territory will vie for national honours and the right to represent Australia at the Asia Pacific ICT Awards, to be held in Indonesia later this year. AIIA welcomes Federal Budget, presses for stronger focus on business development
AIIA has expressed support for long term initiatives contained in the 2008 Federal Budget that will positively impact upon the ICT sector.
However, AIIA Chief Executive Officer, Ian Birks, said there was a lack of focus on business stimulus across the digital economy, particularly in the context of other key goals outlined in this Budget.
“The digital economy needs to be recognised for the economic contribution it makes in its own right. This is particularly important given ICT’s status as horizontal industry that will underpin many of the government’s aspirations across the wider economy – such as healthcare reform, the education revolution and emissions control,” Mr Birks said.
“Business stimulus across the ICT industry is very important. An innovative and thriving ICT sector will be essential to meeting the future challenges identified by the Rudd Government.”
