The select group of 2006 iAwards finalists has been announced.
The iAwards - the Australian ICT industry’s premier annual awards program – is presented by AIIA, the Australian Financial Review and the CSIRO ICT Centre.
AIIA’s Chief Executive Officer, Rob Durie commented on the outstanding quality of the nominations received this year, “It is always incredibly exciting and uplifting to see the calibre of ICT innovation that Australia has to offer when we explore the iAward nominations. The iAwards are all about recognising, showcasing and celebrating the ‘best of the best’ ICT products and services and in doing so, providing the impetus to launch more Australian ICT successes.”
Finalists will now proceed to the rigorous second round of judging which will be held in Sydney on 15 and 16 March, 2006.
Each finalist will make a 30-minute presentation to the judging panel, and take part in a meticulous Q&A session on their innovation.
The eventual winners will be chosen by a judging panel of 25 high-profile representatives from the Australian media, academia, government and the ICT industry. The iAwards judging panel will be governed by Head Judge, Alan Baxter, Chairman of Fujitsu Limited.
This year’s iAwards winners will be announced and recognised at the ICT industry’s “Night of Nights”, the prestigious iAwards gala dinner which will be held on Friday 7 April in the Grand Harbour Ballroom, Star City Hotel in Sydney.
