Export News: Join ICT Industry Delegation to India
It is not often that the opportunity presents itself to spend nine days in the exclusive company of a government minister, let alone the minister responsible for your specific interest. That is just what is being offered by Senator Helen Coonan, the Minister for Communications, Information Technology and the Arts.
Senator Coonan is heading up an ICT industry delegation to India from 20 to 28 October 2005 and members of Australia’s ICT industry are being invited to go along.
The delegation will visit New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore to meet some of India’s premier IT companies. As part of her visit, the Senator is to be a special guest of honour at an industry tradefair, BangaloreIT, being held between 26 and 29 October.
While in New Delhi, the host city for the 2010 Commonwealth Games, the delegation will be invited to participate in Business Club Australia: Melbourne 2006, a joint initiative of the Australian and Victorian Governments to develop international business relationships at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.
On top of the scheduled tour events, Austrade will arrange meetings for members of the delegation in the cities on the itinerary, or in any other locations in India which delegates may want to visit.
To register your interest in becoming a member of the delegation, contact Evy Moran at Austrade on (03) 9648 3179 or email exportIT@austrade.gov.au.
AIIA’s Chief Executive Officer, Rob Durie says the tour affords a unique opportunity for senior executives in the ICT industry to engage the government and promote their company and the industry generally to the Minister.
“It is a rare initiative which, if supported, could lead to in similar invitations in the future,” Mr Durie said.
