Gershon Review update - AIIA member survey
Member's survey now online

Last week, AIIA CEO Ian Birks, a range of AIIA member company CEOs and members of AIIA National Board of Directors met with Sir Peter Gershon and Department of Finance officers to discuss the Independent Review of Australian Government’s Use of ICT (the Gershon Review.)

The meeting followed a detailed formal submission to the Review made on behalf of members and the wider ICT industry in Australia earlier this month. It provided the opportunity to discuss the detail of AIIA’s submission in a face-to-face environment as well as to clarify the industry’s concerns around a number of issues.

Following the meeting, Sir Peter has requested additional information to supplement the original submission and many of the issues raised at the forum. In particular, Sir Peter has asked for substantive information on the impact on the industry of the costs of selling to government and the terms and conditions of government contracting.

AIIA has prepared a short online questionnaire designed to gather the information requested by Sir Peter. By completing the online questionnaire, you will help us achieve our objective of improving the business environment for your company, for our members and for the industry. All responses will be combined and that only the aggregated data will be used.

Input is cordially invited from the CEOs of all AIIA member companies as soon as possible but it must be with us by close of business on July 18th at the very latest.

Closing date: 30 July 2008

As part of streamlining procurement, the NSW Government has invited ICT providers to submit expressions of interest (EOI) for appointment to an ICT services panel that will initially stand for three years (RFT 0800542).  It is anticipated that the ICT panel will replace a number of the existing panel arrangements as they end.
