New AIIA Board Director: Andy Lambert, Fuji Xerox Australia
AIIA has a new member of its influential Board of Directors: Andy Lambert – new Managing Director of Fuji Xerox Australia, has taken on the role with AIIA from outgoing MD, Phil Chambers.
Andy Lambert’s career with the Xerox Group spans 25 years, working internationally in a number of countries including Singapore, Hong Kong and South America.
He has spent the last 11 years as the Finance Director of Fuji Xerox Australia and since 1998 has worked in partnership with the previous Managing Director, Phil Chambers, to change the Australian operation from a company of historic ‘lack lustre’ financial performance to one of substantial growth and benchmark profitability.
Appointed to the position of Deputy CEO in December 2003, Mr Lambert has helped to change the image of Fuji Xerox Australia from one of a copier company to that of an ICT services company, with focus on implementing various strategic initiatives including:
- Developing a suite of e-Systems driving productivity and delivering superior customer service;
- Establishing a successful document management outsourcing division (Fuji Xerox Global Services) that counts more than 50 blue-chip companies in its client list;
- Restructuring the production business to ensure it achieves sustainable growth for its customers and for Fuji Xerox; and
- Developing sustainability as a key business principle with focus on the environment, corporate social responsibility, and customer and employee satisfaction.
Mr Lambert's experience, knowledge and commitment to environmentally responsible business will be great assets to AIIA's Board of Directors.
"As a director of AIIA, I look forward to participating in a board which brings together senior executives across the ICT Industry who can focus on the resolution of the issues and challenges facing the industry to ensure its continued health and growth," Mr Lambert says.
"I would like to see AIIA develop a practical and implementable ICT product stewardship model which is accepted by business, government and the community," he continues. "This model should ideally recognise and accommodate the work of those organisations who have already achieved substantial progress on the ownership of their e-waste."
