Progress on AIIA/AEEMA Merger
The boards of both AIIA and AEEMA met separately but concurrently last week to discuss the proposed amalgamation of the two associations. Both boards have expressed a willingness to explore the possible merger further, and were pleased with the progress made so far. |

SMEs Fulfill Local Requirements
A leading AIIA member company has rejected as a “common misconception” that the ICT market in Australia is dominated by large multinational organisations. Mr John Debrincat, the Managing Director of eCorner Pty Ltd says Australia has a large pool of local companies which are developing and delivering world-class IT solutions. Mr Debrincat said the solutions were being provided across a broad range of technologies embracing everything from e-Commerce solutions to wireless applications and VoIP. “These entrepreneurs deliver a broad range of positive benefits to the community, the local market and the nation’s economy,” he said. “They deliver employment growth, improve export earnings and supply a range of services which satisfy the unique needs of Australian Business,” Mr Debrincat said. He also praised the federal and state governments for their active role in building a culture which supports local organisations and rewards their contribution.
