AIIA represented on new Communications Alliance board
AIIA’s former Chief Executive Officer, Rob Durie, will represent the Association on the board of the newly formed Communications Alliance.
The newly elected Board of Directors was announced on 20 November, and replaces the transitional board which came into effect following the merger of the Australian Communications Industry Forum (ACIF) and the Service Providers Association Inc (SPAN) on 1 September.
“It is vital that AIIA member companies have representation in the Australian communications industry,” Mr Durie says.
“The Communications Alliance offers a forum for the industry to make coherent and constructive contributions to policy development and debate. I look forward to representing the Association and helping the Communication Alliance to lead the next generation of converging networks, technologies and services.”
While Mr Durie has stepped aside from the role of CEO at AIIA, he will continue to work for the Association on a number of committees, particularly in the areas of industry development and government relations.
