Queensland committee looks to the future
Mr Vickers has taken over the post from Martin Lack from Martin Lack and Associates, who stepped down following his election to the Board of AIIA. As the immediate past president, Mr Lack will continue to sit on the Queensland committee. Cathy Ford, who is from SMS Management and Technology, was voted Deputy Chair of the branch. The remaining members of the committee are Laurence Baynham from Data#3, Zaff Bozkurt from Resume IT, Mike Duke from LogicaCMG, Kirsty Garrett from Fujitsu, Julie Jackaby from Acknowledge Database Services, Ian McClenaughan from IBM, Robert Pedler from SAP, Simon Porter from Accenture, David Usher from Telstra and Mark Williamson from Singtel Optus. Mr Vickers described the committee as a powerful team with a wealth of knowledge and strong contacts, both within Queensland and outside the State. He said it represented a wide cross section of Queensland’s ICT industry and included four members from organisations which had their headquarters located in Queensland. Outlining plans for the coming year, Mr Vickers said that a recent branch planning session agreed on three themes for 2006: • Membership value and growth including communications, value proposition, member acquisition and events. In line with these initiatives, and in recognition of the huge potential membership opportunities in Queensland, AIIA recently appointed Kim Henshaw as its new business development manager based in Queensland. Mr Henshaw brings more than 15 years experience in business management and marketing, including a period as Director of Enhanced Business Performance Pty Ltd, a company which delivers technology driven sales, marketing, public relations and business improvement services to mainly ICT industry clients in SE Queensland. |
