AIIA members invited to see lobbying at work

For more than a decade, AIIA’s Board of Directors has met annually in Canberra to brief ministers, shadow ministers, key officials and other industry stakeholders on issues of priority to the ICT industry in Australia. These meetings are essential in maintaining both AIIA's and the ICT industry's high profile with decision makers.

Members of AIIA can be involved in the activities by attending the Board of Directors’ cocktail party at Parliament House on Tuesday 16 August, or the Canberra Managers’ Forum on Thursday 17 August.

AIIA is delighted to present Special Minister of State, the Hon Gary Nairn, who will be speaking about:

  • The role of the Australian Government Information Office (AGIMO),
  • e-Government strategy,
  • The Australian Government’s Smartcard Framework,
  • Australian Government e-Authentication Framework for Individuals (AGAF(I)), and
  • Identity Management for Australian Government Employees framework (IMAGE).

Minister Nairn will also host a breakfast for government backbenchers, during which AIIA will present on the value of the ICT industry to Australia’s economic prosperity. Directors will also be meeting with the Minister and senior opposition spokespeople in the morning prior to the AIIA Board meeting.

Join AIIA’s influential Board of Directors and other members of the ICT community at this not-to-be-missed opportunity to learn more about the government policies and initiatives affecting the ICT industry. Please click here to register for the Canberra Managers' Forum.
