Catherine Ford
Catherine Ford has held the role of Regional Director for the Queensland division of SMS Management & Technology since October 2000. She is responsible for managing all aspects of SMS's consulting business throughout Queensland including strategic direction, business development, financial planning and human resource management.
Catherine is a Director of the board of Queensland Motorways, Deputy–Chair of the AIIA Queensland Committee and is a member of the Institute of Company Directors and advises organisations on Information Management Governance. She is currently part of a focus group that will assist the Office of Government ICT review the Queensland Government’s procurement arrangements for ICT contractors and consultants.
Since joining SMS in 1997, Catherine has held a number of senior consulting roles with major clients. Catherine's experience includes strategic planning, project management and process re-engineering, during a career that has spanned both the private and public sectors, in information technology and management roles. Her professional achievements include Program Director for a multi-million dollar process improvement program and strategic planning for a major redevelopment project.
Simon Porter
Simon Porter is the Partner responsible for Accenture's Queensland Government practice, based in the Brisbane office.
Since joining the firm in 1986, Simon has specialised in the program management of large-scale business integration programs involving finance, human resources and payroll, human services, student management, maintenance, manufacturing and supply operations.
Some recent client engagements Simon has led include, Queensland Treasury’s Whole of Government Detailed Business Requirements project for a new HR/Payroll solution, TAFE Queensland’s Institute’s Student Administration System (ISAS) based on PeopleSoft, Department of Families Adoptions management system based on Siebel, Queensland Rail’s custom developed .NET solutions and an SAP Blueprint for an enterprise wide rollout of new applications and reengineered processes for Airservices Australia.
Simon has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Queensland and has been a past chairman of AIIA’s Queensland Branch, the Queensland IT&T Awards and the Queensland IT&T Forum. He was formerly a member of the Communication and Information Advisory Board’s working party on Electronic Service Delivery.
In joining AIIA’s Queensland Committee, Simon’s objective was simple “to make government easier to do business with.”
