AIIA's New SME ICT Salary Survey

How do SMEs pay for the best employees and achieve business targets?

AIIA’s Survey of Salaries and Remuneration Packaging in the Australian ICT Industry has long been known and respected as the most comprehensive, reliable and authoritative source of salary information in the ICT industry.

Now, smaller member companies can access salary information in a special survey designed specifically for SMEs in the ICT industry.

“AIIA understands that more than 200 remuneration tables are superfluous for small companies with only a handful of staff,” says Rick Watt, AIIA’s Remuneration Committee Chairman and Head of Global Rewards – Asia Pacific for Unisys. “This new abridged version of the Salary Survey allows SME member companies to choose the six most relevant positions to their businesses from any of those listed in the main survey.”

Whether your company is a multinational company, or a small business with four staff, salaries constitute one of the largest expenses in any organisation, Rick Watt explains “It’s fundamentally important that remuneration strategies support the strategic direction of any organisation, and align with the pay rates offered in the market.

“AIIA’s SME ICT Salary Survey is an invaluable resource for SME employers - providing the information to assist them balance the dual goals of rewarding employees while achieving business targets,” Mr Watt says.

The survey also reports on trends, including salary market movements, staff attrition rates and forecast salary budget figures. The data is analysed by organisation size, sub-industry and state.

Survey participants include leaders in the Australian ICT industry representing the hardware, software, services and systems integrators sectors. Data is balanced through the inclusion of niche-market organisations.

If your organisation’s Australian revenue is less than $2 million, you can select and purchase six remuneration tables with corresponding position descriptions from the comprehensive survey.

Responding to requests to offer a financially viable alternative for smaller organisations, AIIA’s new product costs just $950 (plus GST) and can be purchased on a needs basis. This price is for SME companies that provide remuneration data for their six chosen positions for the following survey. If your company does not want to release that information, the product costs $1,425 (plus GST).

AIIA’s Salary Survey is conducted twice yearly by leading remuneration specialists CSi, and is used by members to develop their recruitment and remuneration strategies. No other survey in Australia captures as much comprehensive information on ICT industry salaries.
