AIIA seeks nominees for its new ACT Committee
AIIA is seeking representatives for its newly formed ACT Committee and will hold an election for its 2007 ACT Committee, with nominations now open.
According to Interim Branch Chair, Jack Radik, AIIA’s ACT Committee provides industry representatives in the ACT with business and networking opportunities, and aims to create a better environment to do business in the ACT and internationally.
“The Branch looks to represent the local ICT industry through business development initiative and by lobbying government to reduce the cost of doing business in the ACT,” Mr Radik says.
AIIA encourages all eligible members to nominate for the committee. Nominations close on midnight Friday 20 October 2006, with the results to be announced at the first ACT Branch Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 7 November.
The AGM will mark the beginning of a formalised AIIA committee in the Canberra region, Jack Radik says. Mr Radik will report on the ACT Committee’s activities and achievements since its formation in May 2006, and will announce the 12 members of the ACT Committee for 2007.
“We thank industry representatives from AIIA member companies who have worked on a voluntary basis to assist in building the ACT Branch during 2006 and encourage AIIA members in the ACT to become involved in the ACT Branch and its activities,” Mr Radik adds.
Voting instructions and a list of candidates will be sent to the most senior ACT representative in each financial AIIA member company shortly. Voting closes at midnight on Friday 3 November 2006. Find out more about the election or the AGM.
